Georgia’s Mikheil Saakashvili a False Flag Henry VIII? Georgia rubbishes Saakashvili terrorist plot claim to assassinate wife to ensure victory in 2008 Presidential elections
TBILISI, April 9 (RIA Novosti) – A Georgian presidential spokesman dismissed on Thursday allegations that President Mikheil Saakashvili had planned a terrorist act in which his wife would die to ensure he won January 2008 elections. Sulkhan Molashvili, the former head of the Georgian State Audit Chamber, was quoted by the news website as saying that, “He was ready to sacrifice his wife in order to guarantee victory at the elections.” He said Saakashvili had worked out the plan with the country’s Special Forces. “He is ready to do anything to maintain power,” he added. “These are ravings that are not even worth commenting on,” the presidential spokesman said. Molashvili, who lives in Germany, did not explain why the alleged plan had not gone ahead. Saakashvili won the 2008 presidential elections and was elected for a second term. However, his popularity has plummeted since last August’s disastrous war with Russia, and his failure to carry out the democratic reforms promised after the 2003 “Rose Revolution” that brought him to power. His wife, Sandra Roelofs, holds Dutch and Georgian citizenship.
