Bovine Excrement Meter Explodes! Sept. 11 families: Keep Guantanamo Bay open

GUANTANAMO BAY, Cuba (CNN) — Families of September 11 victims visiting Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, on Thursday urged the Obama administration to drop plans to close the facility and to restart terror trials there. “I am opposed to the closing of this facility because of political reasons,” said Gordon Haberman whose daughter, Andrea, was killed when terrorist planes struck the World Trade Center. “I believe that the current administration spoke too quickly on this.” Haberman said he thinks President Obama should not insist on carrying out his campaign pledge to shutter the detention facility. Haberman was one of nine people visiting Guantanamo this week who lost loved ones in the September 11 attacks. He and the others had the opportunity to observe pre-trial hearings for some suspects on Wednesday and Thursday. Several were critical of Obama’s decision to suspend military commissions at Guantanamo Bay while the administration reviews what to do with each detainee.

I try to understand how these people feel about the Guantanamo Bay detention facility, I really do try. However, I’m not sure they always know who to be angry with. Lots of people got swept up in the hunt for Al Qaeda members in the early years of the War on Terror. How many of them really had involvement in the 9/11 attacks?

These families know quite well that most of the detainees had nothing to do with Sept. 11. Destroying these people’s lives will not bring their loved ones back. keeping Gitmo open is no solution. The thousands of lives, both American and others that have followed the aftermath of Sept. 11 is horrific. Thousands of those people, including American soldiers who risk their lives daily and the families of soldiers that have died never received any of the millions of dollars given to these Sept. 11 families. Perhaps the Sept 11 families should focus their attention on sharing their wealth with American soldiers families, soldiers who by the way want Gitmo closed so they can come home to their loved ones.

What a crock of crap. Of course they report on NINE sept. 11 family members who want to keep it open, but they don’t report on the HUNDREDS of sept. 11 family members who believe that gitmo, its detainees, and this fake trial nonsense are all just a dog and pony show to draw our attention away from finding the REAL perps of 9-11.
